Marriage rocks!

Well the wedding excitement is over and we’re off on our honeymoon… we’re in Cuba – 6 days in, including:

  • 1.5 travel days
  • One wrong hotel in montreal
  • Customs shenanigans in Santa Clara
  • Closed banks
  • a fabulous guest house
  • lovely pool outside of Santa Clara
  • lots of beautiful sites

Looking forward to the resort in a couple of days so we can stay cool in the ocean… it’s about 900000 degrees here with 99% humidity!

The craziest schedule known to man

Andrel and I tried to document our schedule for the week… we had to take a month-at-a-glance whiteboard calendar and use it for a single week… we’re that busy this week. All the last minute details seem to have been left to the last minute …. shocking!

If you’re curious…

  • Monday: Final dress fitting, making specials, groceries, buy a veil (find a veil first), buy some jewelery (find some jewelery first)
  • Tuesday: Golfing for Michelle’s birthday, cleaning, deliver playpen to Peg & Eric
  • Wednesday: Girls afternoon out, mani/pedi for Andrel, Dad arrives, Williamson clan arrive
  • Thursday: Hair appointment, Reids & Williamsons for dinner,
  • Friday: Pick out flowers, pick up rental car, pick up Grandma, Auntie Linda, Uncle Tommy, pick up Tracy, work out with Chris, massages
  • Saturday: Run through ceremony, pick up chairs, boys golf day, mani/pedi for Kerry
  • Sunday: WEDDING!!

Oh yah… and Andrel and I are working Mon – Thurs.. GACK!

Rain, rain, stay away…

I’ve checked the weather network’s historical data: It’s only rained twice on September 21 between 2001 & 2007. The highs for that day are between 9 and 20 degrees celcius…

Erm… so… is it too late to change the location?

This is where we'll get married!

This is where we'll get married!

Well… true to form, Andrel & I have changed the location of the wedding ceremony! We’re now getting married at Reader Rock Garden. It’s about a million times prettier than the park we were going to get married at!

Countdown is officially on

Well we are now 3 weeks away.

What a ride it has been, who knew that on June 22, that we would be getting hitched on Sept. 21. Lots has happened, and still to happen. But the big things are done, just have a few small details left to do, find a cool belt, black socks, present for the best man, people to arrive, dress fittings, gifts for the guests, etc.

I’m sure there will be a night or 2 of missed sleep before the wedding, and a few gray hairs, but it will all be well worth it.

First wedding presents

Wahoo!!!

We got our first wedding presents.

So this afternoon I got called to the meeting room around 2:45. My co-workers decided to throw a little party, first a little going away goodbye for Ryan who is going back to school, and second a wedding present opening for Kerry and I.

We recieved some great presents from William and Sonoma, since we both love to cook my wonderful co-workers all pitched in and bought us 2 cookbooks, a cookbook stand, a salad dressing mixer, a spoon rest, and a little cookie cutter. All perfectly practical items to add to our happy and loving little home, these cookbooks will keep me occupied for hours!

The best thing is the cookbook stand has a glass shield so that I don’t get the cookbooks covered in sauce.

Thank you so much, James, Marilyn, louise, Ryan, Scott and Elaine.

Oh what to wear…..

Well Kerry has gone out and found the dress and is all excited and can’t wait for fitting # 1. Myself on the otherhand just can’t decide, i definately know i don’t want to wear a Tux or a tie, I want to look sharp and keep it a little casual. For anyone who knows me, knows that ties and I don’t get along (it’s probably due to my lack of neck).

So i have this friday off work, I’m planning on hitting the links with my mom (aka “Chief”) and then lunch and probably we will go out and hunt for an outfit for me, the Chief has always had good taste when it comes to clothing and fashion, so it should be a great time, I will definately suggest that we go and look at shoes as well since I have a shoe fetish.

For those of you out there in the crowd, here is a post i found about what to wear to a wedding that is casual.

Down to the little things….

Well we are a little less than 6 weeks to go to the big day and it looks like things are almost there. It’s just the little things to do now like my suit, cupcake flavours, decorations for the ceremony site, list of photos to be taken, RSVP’s, head counts, etc.

But I think it’s all good, tonight we are going to sit down and make a list and deligate who has to do what and by what time. Not that hard now is it?

Andrel

P.S. Keep those RSVP’s coming

This is what Jennifer Aniston must feel like

Andrel and I had our engagement photos taken on Tuesday night! We can all dressed up. Ha! dressed up for us…so khakis and tshirts :-) and headed down to Edworthy park to meet our photographer, Lindsay Allan.

It was such a weird experience… she followed us around while we strolled around, walked on the railroad tracks, and rode our bikes. The bikes were by far the most fun… I only almost ran over her once.

Lindsay was great – not too many posed photos…. mostly “action” shots… as actiony as you can get on a three speed beach cruiser.

Now I know what the stars must feel like.. paparazzi tailing them around public places. good thing I had my big sunglasses with me!

How sharp are you?

Can you Sharpie your name on to this?

I think it’s safe to say Andrel and I sway slightly away from traditional. Most couples have a lovely wedding guest book for their guests to sign. I’ve also seen a photo album where you wish the couple good wishes underneath a soon-to-be-inserted photo.

We’re going to try something different…. that will take some practice on your part!

How are your skills with a sharpie? You have just under 2 months to practice writing on glass with a medium point sharpie…. Check out the vase we picked up (actually we have two) – that’s where you’ll be leaving your good wishes!

Happy writing!
