Who knew that picking out music for the wedding and reception would be so fun yet so exhausting!

Going into this big adventure we decided not go for the good ol’ wedding DJ. We figure that it’s the digital age, the VUE Cafe is wired for sound, and for the ceremony we can get some small speakers and have music playing on an iPod, and besides wedding DJ’s are old-school and we want the music to represent us, not the guy behind the 8-track player with the pencil mustache, Mullet and Don Johnson/Miami Vice knock-off suit. Also you always know that there will be that uncle who requests the chicken dance or some other cheesy group dance.

Going forward i think we have come up with some groovy tunes to play at the wedding, lots of Jazz, some David Bowie, Latch key kid, Cat Empire, etc.

I think from now till the wedding iTunes will be making some money off of us.

If anyone has some Funky Rhymes that they think would be good, post a comment and maybe it will make the play list!

Christa, Shelly, and I went dress shopping today. Good grief! That was exhausting. I was lucky to have the girls along to keep me going and convince me that I actually wanted a wedding gown.. not just a cocktail dress. After trying on a few different styles, I found THE DRESS. It’s beautiful. It’s ivory. It’s full length. It’s got a bit of flair… a bit of whimsy.

Woo hoo! I can check it off the list! I’m so excited…. now everyone else can go and get their attire

Well the question is getting asked: “Where are you registered?”

To tell you the truth we have decided to be registered anywhere. We sat down the other night and thought about what we needed and upon looking around the decision was made that we really don’t need anything at the moment. Both of us being the sound age of 32 we have pretty much everything we kinda need for now.

Looking at some of the things that people get for their weddings kind of made us ILL. C’mon who really needs a jewel encrusted gravy boat that you might use twice a year?, or that set of real authentic China plates with Elephant ivory inlay (which says: Made in Brandon, MB on the back).

If you are having trouble thinking of what to get us, just think about what we like and like to do. Kerry has gotten into road riding, triathlons, volunteered at a Elephant refuge last year, loves shoes, and will never turn down a massage. Andrel loves bikes, has gotten into photography, enjoys cooking, and has recently discovered Wii (thanks Spider!!)

So go ahead, use your imagination the key thing is that you are there with us on our big day. I know I can’t wait for the day, the bride is going to be beautiful and blushing.

We had a lovely little slip of paper this afternoon from our postman, Eddie**, telling us to pick up a parcel from the depot. We rolled over there after work and lo and behold, our rings had been delivered!

Beautiful.

Two pretty little titanium circles with gold inlays. I can’t wait to wear mine! We tried them on in the car… after I ripped the packaging open with my keys. I’m assuming it’s good luck to try the ring on before the wedding. If it’s not, please don’t tell… I like my delusional world better.

** I think our postman’s name is Eddie. I’m probably wrong, but I’d calling him that anyway.

My lack of a wedding dress 10 weeks before the wedding is problematic. Shelly can’t get her dress until she sees what I’m wearing. Andrel can’t get his outfit until he sees what I’m wearing. And quite frankly I can’t think of anything else right now.

I’m obsessed.

Shelly, Christa, and I are going shopping on Saturday to try to find the “perfect” dress.

The problem? I don’t really know what I want to wear…. I’d love something informal (so… not a big pouffy wedding dress). I’d like natural fabrics. It doesn’t have to be white. And I’d like it to be knee length.

Any suggestions? Seen a dress that you think would suit me? I’m desperate… please… please… please
